The families of Baloch disappeared persons have observed the EID as a Black Day, and urged the United Nations to take notice of the abduction of thousands of Baloch political activists by Pakistan.
According BBC Urdu correspondent Ayub Tareen from Quetta, the Voice for Baloch Missing Person had called for protest rally on Saturday and hundreds of Baloch families including a large number of Baloch women and Children participated in the rally.
The protesters were holding placard and pictures of their disappeared relatives and they were demanding from the UN to take notice of the illegal abductions of their loved one. Talking to BBC the vice chairman of the Voice for Baloch Missing Person Mr. Qadeer Baloch said that "hundreds of our beloved ones have been disappeared for years and we don't even know whether they have been killed or are they still alive". He appealed to Amnesty International and other International Human Right Organisations to stop supporting Pakistan and take practical steps for the recovery and release of nearly 10,000 abducted Baloch.
On this occasion the sister of BSO-Azaad senior vice chairman Mr. Zakir Majeed Baloch said that disappeared Baloch are suffering extreme torture in the custody of Pakistani intelligence agencies. According to her so far over fifteen (15) tortured and bullet riddled bodies of Baloch disappeared persons have been recovered.
The sister of Zakir Majeed further said that "today (EID day) people around world are celebrating and reuniting with their families but we have come out to streets in this hot weather to tell the world about our torment due to the absence of our beloved ones." She further said if our brother committed any crimes then he must be presented to a court and given an opportunity to a fair trial. The disappeared Baloch are political workers; they did not commit theft or robe any one's property, she said.
It is worth noting that during the fifth military operation started by dictator Musharraf several hundred Baloch activists had been disappeared and Baloch political parties have always accused the intelligence agencies of Pakistan for abducting Baloch activists.
