johnboymccraken has something to say about dubious legal concepts and their total unrelatedness to good public relations.

These legal classifications some people are referencing in their comments have little to do with reality and are not favorable to the health of the 2nd amendment... They are the result of compromises between ideologically opposed factions and amount to legal incrementalism, which could culminate in greater restrictions on the right to self defense, than do currently exist in this country. (USA)

As it stands now, these definitions cast a shadow of guilt on someone with the bad luck to have had to maim or kill another person to protect themselves or others; which is the intent of said dubious legal definitions.

Firearms (commonly referred to as guns, though this is technically inaccurate) are all at once: tools, weapons (both anti-personnel and hunting) and even toys, however dangerous. They remain what they are, despite what the law in it's manifestly fickle irrationalism would transform them into.

  • I don't give a shit what you wanna call your guns, but I'm no fool for wanting to refer to mine as firearms.

  • @TheHossUSMC You are not incorrect in calling them firearms, of course,

but, always referring to them as such can seem wooden and artificial; it also fails to address an individual's basically childish views on weapons or firearms in particular. I just don't want any fellow gun owners to put themselves at a disadvantage in debate, by taking the questionable stance that a firearm has somehow not achieved weaponhood as long as it has not been used for the purpose for which it was designed.

  • @TheHossUSMC Call them what you want.

I wouldn't own any guns at all, if human beings and animals were somehow impervious to bullets. I'm not ashamed to say it and deal with the disagreement at this basic level. It doesn't make me callous or bloodthirsty to say that weapons undeniably have value.

  • Well said.

  • Well said. Word games and semantics simply reframe the debate from what it should be.

    Keep and bear arms.

  • This is a "foundational" video for you... similar in significance to nutnfancy's depussification diatribe.

  • Great video buddy

  • ....semantic bullshit....

....like calling a concussion grenade a flashbang....sounds nicer, still kill ya.

  • Great vid, you slipped that media bailout topic in under the rug, that could be a topic all on its own.
