made it in one day in a half

i was gona do a full rotation of all the colors shown here but that would just take too much time.

for blender ppl. i used blender 2.45 added a glow effect, made the rim of the cape of a single plane then i just copied and mirrior it
added clouds and marble as textures, used a buzier circle made the camera perent the buzier circle and i followed it's path, used 3 spot lights with buf.shadow enable, soft to 62, shadowbuffer to 512, samples 16, on the transparent sphere i used ray mirror to 0.07, depth 5, IOR to 1.08, ray transp depth 5. and i used a cloud texture global on the world buttons.

Those capes should two modes:

Defensive - Blue/Black

Soaks mass amounts of damage from NPCs while in the Wilderness

Offensive - Red/Black

Increases damage on NPCs while in the Wilderness

the chromatic one seems a really good idea for a cape, it would have kinda the same effect as the current fire cape :P

definately amazing, should b able to get a cape after (x) amount of kills, the more kills you get the more epic your cape looks and at (x) amount of kills you get an emote, would be amazing :D
