What a wonderful voice for this fantastic Hoagy Carmichael Song, R.I.P. John Gary. This beautiful version of, "The Nearness of You" is almost as beautiful as the versions of, "Stardust" by the great Swedish Jazz singer, Sylvia Vrethammar and the legendary Nat King Cole.

I've never heard the into before. Love songs with an intro.

First became acquainted with John's magical voice when I bought his record album "Catch A Rising Star" back in the early 60's as a teenager. Still love listening to his singing as much today as I did back then, it's timeless.

Beautiful rendition. I wish someone would post two of my favorite lesser known songs that John sings to perfection: "Joy In The Morning" and "Something Simple" --the latter one from his "So Tenderly" album In addition, Both songs have touching and memorable lyrics!
