Ladder truck 8 FDNY

Ladder 8 leaving the fire house of engine 1 and ladder 24 as acting ladder 24 to an unknown call. Acting ladder means that ladder 24 was out for a long time and unable to respond to any calls in its area so that ladder 8 was called in to fill the station and replace ladder 24. A NYPD unit is trying to clear traffic for the truck but a stupid driver simply doesn't move and blocks everything. Hook and ladder 8 is housed alone on North Moore street. Its fire house is known from the movie Ghostbusters as many scenes were filmed there //

Drehleiter 8 rückt von einer Fremdwache aus zu einem unbekannten Einsatz. Da die Leiter 24 für längere Zeit nicht im Wachbezirk zur Verfügung stand wurde Leiter 8 vorübergehend dort stationiert. Eine Einheit der Polizei versucht die Strasse zu räumen aber ein unbelehrbarer Fahrer bewegt sich einfach nicht von der Stelle und blockiert den Verkehr. Die Feuerwache von Leiter 8 ist bekannt aus den Ghostbusters Filmen da viele Szenen dort gedreht wurden //

Man, that ladder was surprisingly quiet while stuck in traffic. I've seen guys go crazy on the siren and horn to get cars moving before, but this was extreamly quiet. At least the officer got traffic moving...

it all depends what the call is for. If it was a fire with trapped people the guys would probably have been standing on the horn....

that caravan was stopped too close to the Rav 4 so he couldnt move anywhere and the Rav 4 didnt budge an inch

@jashaun27 My guess is that officer was just in the area and heard the call come out, or saw the engine getting ready to leave and he just stopped and helped. Professional Courtesy. I work for a PD in MN and anytime I see and Ambulance or Fire Truck coming, flip on my lights and try to clear some cars for them. We also have a device to change the stoplights to green for approaching emergency vehicles, so that comes in handy.
