Just basics, but nevertheless, so important. Not audible through youtube really, but live you "feel" the dynamics. If the volume is much higher it's much more obvious and you can go from nice easy clean to screaming loud just by picking more aggressively.

No effects, just guitar plugged into amp.

I play sloppy, but I don't have the time to practice at all, so I hope it's watchable at least. I can play much cleaner when I warm up a little

  • Hey, great playing dude! I'm playing with a Gibson les Paul Traditional and a AC30 Head through Alnico Blue Speaker Cabinet, so i got nearly the same specs but i don't get that tone :( What settings do you have on the amp? Vintage or Modern Output-Bias? What Eq-Setting do you use for that classy les paul tone?

    Keep on rockin' !

  • @Emwikts1970

I'm sorry I don't remember the settings, sounds as if you have good equipment! The sound in real life (versus what you hear on this clip) is much bigger and fuller. If I remember correctly I usually have more treble than bass on the amp to get the shimmer/chime. Also I liked the vintage bias a bit more, so probably it was vintage mode. In this clip it's the top boost channel, but I actually preferred the normal channel without the bright switch, then adjust the "tone cut"

  • Thank you all for the positive comments! I miss this combination of the les Paul Custom and the AC30, then just, when needed, addition of the treble booster, Tim pedal, wah wah and I could get basically any sound I wanted

  • hey nice playing!! which is made?? in england?

  • @Lsamadesca thank you! this one was made in China in 2005, it's the AC30 CC2X model

  • Finally! Someone who understands how to use the guitar and amp WITHOUT a whole array of sound destroying pedals. Use the volume and different attacks to show the TRUE sound spectrum of the guitar. AND: You´re not playing sloppy, you maybe only needed to warm up a bit, like everyone else. Finally: Gibson LP and Vox AC30TB really is a match made in Heaven, although your amp is manufactured in China. I´ve been a Vox-man since 1965 .. Very good playing and very instructive video.

  • you have the perfect set up, i hope one day to be playing these babys!

  • RUSSIA ROCKS

  • So nice. I just got one of these amps. Nothing sounds like a VOX. Rock on!

  • you should pause more inbetween some notes/riffs to make it sound epic ;) it gives more feel

  • you are lost thats not a 12 bar thing!!!! :P

  • @pugNdrum
