@fujicolt - Dead right about the hiring of a tape. I've said it before & I'll say it again, people need to get away from thinking 'Japanese high dan = I'll learn a lot and improve a lot'. First and foremost it needs to come from within the individual. Secondly I'd advise these guys to get hold of a no nonsense 'tell it like it is' qualified karate teacher who speaks good English. Strewth there must be loads of them in the USA. Forget Nippon and opt for 'get it on'. ;)
I thought by the time you have your black belt you should master the first basic kick which is this one. Why waste all this black belt competence on this?
I think i may have been misunderstood - the JKA Instructors are such a mine of info it was unusual to see him simply drilling them - but as said maybe his technical instruction wasn't posted.
@fujicolt well, all i can say...is....the basics are taught...the basics are the foundation and root.....so he IS teaching something VERY important......as far as techniques otr applications....i wouldn;t know...wasn't there.....just like you i stumbled upon this...but i have taken Shotokan....in past
@232323C but where does he as a visiting instructor teach anything - you could hire a tape to count to ten! - but to be fair - are those clips not posted?
