This is a quick review of my GSI Pinnacle Dualist. This is a great cook set for anyone looking for options in their camping cook set. a self contained 4 bowl (or 2 bowls/2 mugs) kit that will hold your stove. The 1.8 liter pot is very nice. I had a 4 minute boiltime for a liter of water, which is awesome

  • I have been using this kit for over 2 years now with nothing but great things to say. It is the perfect camping cookset

  • when camping can i use non filtered water to wash my cookset because i dont want to use filtered/boiled water

  • What I typically do is use creek water to clean the dishes and then boil some water to sanitize everything. I then dip all dishes and silver ware in the boiling water to sanitize

  • Very helpful review, thanks for posting. Quick question on the "creek water" for cooking food and cleaning afterwards. Are you filtering the water at any point in that process or just using the boiling process to kill off bacteria? Are you concerned about bacterial issues if you clean the kit with unfiltered water (that is if you don't filter)?

I've never camped but I'm very excited to start but want to make sure I don't get sick!

    Thanks very much

  • When boiling water I do not filter at all, unless the water is murky or sludgy, as the boiling process will kill everything I need it to kill. Just make sure to bring the water to a rolling boil for a few minutes. I typically only use my filter for drinking water as filtering can take a long time.

  • i bought this set today. anxious 2 use it. can u boil water with the plastic cover on the pot? hoping 2 find out b4 i use it. thx karen

  • I wasn't drying them properly and was packing them away damp, which is obviously not a great idea

  • will this work with an open fire?

  • Nice

  • Jetboil

  • ever notice how the bpa free lid smells like a hint of white gas when the lid gets warm?

  • @cougarbahia Dont boil using lid unless its BPA free or whatever.

  • Looks like a very nice cooking system with all you'd ever need.

  • this is a great piece of gear..i use it on the appalachian trail...its light..everything fits nicely inside..i'm using the pinnacle sloloist..you will be pleased with this cookwear.. i'm using an ultralight stove by soto...so i dont have any problems with the handle insulation melting...the flame is smaller or more concentrated...it also fits nicely inside the stove unit along with 1 butane can..

  • use a wind block dude.
