We like to think of ourselves as film connaisseurs...which is why we loved the ending to this movie. Pretty much the only reason why we give it a thumbs up. Sure, Clooney is adored by millions of women across the globe, but can his good looks keep up with his monologue in this flick? We say..."Clooney, you're so fucked."

  • The entire movie, with the exception of the scene where he mystically, fortunately but unexplainedly gets out of his car to go to the top of a hill in the country, all of a sudden, so his car then blows up without him in it, is incredible and you say this scene is "the only reason why you give it a thumbs up"?

Oh, brother. You really don't get it.

Oh, and it's "moral". The "moral" of the story, not the "morale". He has high morale, really.

  • @kcdrew69 We don't usually respond to comments on our videos, but we wanted to take the time and thank you for the awesome review of our very brief review from a movie over two years ago! Much appreciated. Oh...and we were using the original french spelling of connaisseurs...but thanks for the heads up on how that bothered you. We're truly sorry for the distress it caused you.

  • @naruhinaaddict1000 regardless, a magnificent film, wonderfully written, filmed and acted.

  • @naruhinaaddict1000 Well, that helps a great deal but it still just doesn't look as though it works in the film. Getting out of the car in the middle of nowhere, in the morning, when you're headed back to the city, walking up a hill in a pasture only to have your car, conveniently for the film, explode, it just seemed messy, overall. Your explanation definitely helps though, thanks.

  • @SELLECAO72 I'm with you. The rest of the movie made total sense but for that. Apparently that was the only way they could come up with to have his car explode like that. It's too bad. Sad, really, because otherwise a perfect film. I couldn't agree with you more.

  • @kcdrew69 that's why he got out of the car, it wasn't just a "oh i think i'll get out of the car" moment

  • @kcdrew69 i totally agree and mean no disrespect here so don't take it that way please. The scene where he gets out of the car to look at the horses is in reference to a very brief moment in the movie. At the start his son describes the book Realm and Conquest and how no one has any alliances with anyone and its everyman for himself. then when he sees the book at Arthur's and looks through it there is a brief picture of horses by a tree, so he was thinking about how right his son is.

  • 5:08-5:30 After that excellent dismantling of Karen, watch him walk away... no false bravado. You can see it in his face, "Jesus Christ, how did I get though that?" Like all the anger and fear was trickling down his entire being like ice water. Great, subtle acting.

  • This needs a sequel. MC II

  • Arigato, Michael Clayton.

  • That bitch crumbled.

  • I can just about understand if Clayton really did set out to blackmail U-North.

"I want more" than the biscuit crums he ges on his law firms table. "I want out" Of being an underpaid janitor to the rich, powerful and morally bankrupt. "And with this (memo), I want everything" Hard evidence against U-North as his trumpcard.
