Good luck with that. S197 stangs generally sound like crap compared to the previous models. The "geniuses" at Ford decided to put the mufflers in the rear instead of the middle. Unfortunately, Flowmasters are some of the crappiest sounding mufflers on the new stangs. It's frustrating.

Yeah, but if you listen to a Ford Explorer Sport Trac with the 3v engine, it doesn't sound as bad as the S197 Mustang. Piping out the back makes a huge difference. Of course, nothing's going to beat the old pushrod sound.

Thanks for the comments on my car, wish I still had it. :( Yes I found the perfect balance of rumble and that unique "tinny" sound that comes from pairing the o/r prochamber with the american thunder 40 series catback. They are the original 40s, not the Deltas or 44s.

Had my fun with the car, but it was too impractical where I live. It snows more than it's dry. I had an '88 Sentra beater but it left me stranded in subzero temperatures, which inevitably caused me to sell my Mustang.
