How can anybody say she performed badly? That is absolutely ridiculous! Going by Hayley standards, maybe it's not her most flawless performance, but she is an amazing singer, and she did very well for not knowing the song that well.

I read the comments about Hayley struggling with the low notes. Perhaps it's true. Still, she's a lovely girl, and an Iconic figure for New Zealand, and I'm a big fan of hers. And the song? The song is one of the finest ever composed. It never fails to remind me of the higher things in life.

I don't think Hayley has been compromised like this since she was about 16, and had to accompany a military band ( in New Zealand ) who were playing Amazing Grace.Under the circumstances mentioned below, I think she did well.

First , I want to say thank you to HWI. Hayley Westenra is best singer I have ever heard. I know of no one who can match her . Her voice is like a fine musical instrument played by a master.

@deskpot1 Well, it was an off the cuff performance that was unrehearsed. And some of those low notes are outside her confort zome for sure. This one was all about why she did it, and respect for soldiers who gave their lives in Afghanistan. I did think more than once about whether I should uplad it at all, but in the end I thought people might like to see it, so I did.
