@Nolansykinsley NM just saw the "fire protection" sign near the end of the video!

What is the purpose of the foam? Fire retardant?
-
@LasVegasWSFP Lol yeah.

Holy cow that's a lotta foam!

Effectively, the foam completely smothers the fire, while its high water content provides effective cooling to reduce the fire’s heat energy. Well-formulated foam, correctly applied, displays a number of important firefighting characteristics that ensure a fire is extinguished efficiently and securely to prevent re-ignition. These include: stability; cohesion; rapid fire-knockdown; heat resistance; and vapour suppression.

Because of the agent’s low density, the foam readily floats on a fire’s fuel surface or, in what are called “total volume filling” applications, completely fills the enclosed protected area to extinguish the fire by separating the fuel from the oxygen that is essential for combustion to continue.

Damn impressive, I work for W.S.F.P. in Colorado Springs. Been there since an apprentice 7.5 yrs ago and our foam test was cool but not that cool as that. We do a lot of work at the military hangars in town. We filled a hangar for Leer Jets 6 foot in 2 Min but those foam generators are bad ass.

We have done a number of these now and it never gets old watching them dump. Thanks for comment.---Troy
