1988 soviet ramming USS Yorktown CG 48 in black sea

In february 1988 while in the black sea i was a Gunnersmate on the USS Yorktown cg 48 and we where rammed off the coast of the USSR by a soviet naval vessel.

@Ax9L I quite understand there were more than one. The two most famous ones were the TWO aircraft carriers bearing that name. Your ship was a cruiser. I figured that out when I saw the ship designation number you provided.

I guess I missed the mention in the Wikipedia entry then but I skimmed through it pretty slowly looking for it so I guess I am getting old at 35. LOL LOL

Yorktown and Caron entered soviet waters. The soviets were not amused by this and basically decided to push them back out.

2: It's totally in the wikipedia entry for the Yorktown at least. You just have to realize that there was more than one ship called Yorktown over the course of history.
