The bullet is pushed by the gas pressure which results from the propellant (gun powder) that is ignited by the primer. A .45acp has about 21,000 lbs per square inch of pressure in the chamber - pretty low compared to the 9mm at around 35,000.

Wow your pretty damn stupid kid, first off; "Colt .45" is a malt liquor or basically cheap ass beer and not a drug, drugs are illegal beer is not except for underage retards like you.
