Poland has survived for thousands of years with hundreds of attacks, allies are nothing to poland, we had a ally with france in the start of WW2 and they pussied out and ditched us. Why would they care about allies? I think what poland wants is nuclear power, once that is establishes you are untouchable. How do you achieve this? two ways, suck up, or go against the law and do it yourself. sucking up seems easier to me.

yes i agree that doing what is NECESSARY is good, no one wants bully or fight, its point less, if the worlds economy money was not sucked up bye the big Bankers and Greedy People, there would really be no reason to fight at all,so the dam missile base for all i care,if i could poop down the air intake and get away with it i would. BUT,i support Missile defense, Right here along the east and west coast's of America and along the Canada border,RIGHT HERE! There is my support for Missile defense!

Remember that our political leaders go overseas to deal with foreign leaders like Putin, and Ahmadinajhad. And it would be an understatement to say that those men do NOT play fair. Im not saying that playing nice wont work... but I AM saying that playing nice is just ONE OF MANY TACTICS that our political leaders should use.

Im no pro-Cheney/Rumsfeld hardliner, but I have to disagree with your POV. The world stage is no playground. Playing nice doesnt always work. I expect my political leaders to play nice, play fair, play bully, and all of the above AS NECESSARY to protect the people of the US.

i dont have a problem with Poland having a defense system, its not like its going to gave nukes in it right, plus Cuba is an independent nation also, you mean to say Cuba is not in Americas back yard if russia put a nuke there. i would hope there would be no nukes in Poland's defense base. if there is no nukes involved then so what!

Poland isn't Russia's backyard. they're an independent country and they can do whatever they want ON THEIR TERRITORY. Polish history (in fact eastern european history) shows that russians are big threat and they can't be trusted.

as an American citizen, my government got mad when Russia went to put missiles in Cuba, so i don't think my government should put there missiles in Russia's back yard too.
