I support both the rugby and the football. I prefer Wigan RL as that is what I have been brought up on but there's always a place for Latics. Anything that is good for Wigan as a whole then I'm in.

Yeah, he did a lot for both teams (probably more Latics than Warriors, to be fair) and kept us within our respective sports. So fair play to him.

I agree and good on 'em. I love Wigan as a town and if Wigan Athletic are making it more popular then great!.
As much as we dislike Whelan without him there would be no Wigan Athletic and Wigan Warriors would have gone bankrupt.

Now the Latics are doing the same, putting Wigan on the map. This time two years ago, no one in Honduras knew what Wigan was and now, we're practically their number one team.
Dave Whelan, trust me. He isn't that popular with the football, either.
