  • I disagree. It's a decent beer. I wouldn't rate it super high but 5.25 isn't fair.

Were you having a bad day or just brushed your teeth with some freshen up toothpaste when you reviewed this. Bready? Plum?

It's a carmelly beer, and while agree that it's not a traditional Scotch ale, it's in the wheelhouse. It does have a moderate high alcohol content that gives a slight burn.

For a macro, no complaints here. Certainly Keiths best in my opinion.

  • @Funguyfungus *shrug* I wasn't to impressed with it boss...I do find that to be the best thing about beer everyone can have their own opinion...I don't now it wasn't a Scotch ale like everyone keeps thinking it is it's defined as a scottish ale much different not as caramely and no smoke, just like a french ale or anything else just an ale made in scottland if it had been a scotch it would have been even lower, but yes I agree with you between this, red, white, dark, harvest etc this is the best

  • I had forgotten that I had evens ent this to you. I think I was perhaps a bit too impressed with this considering how lame their other releases are.

  • @elharlock I usuaully jump on reviewing the bottles sent to me I just don't always remember to post them right away!

  • I need to find some of this, i`d like to give it a go.

  • Nice you pronounced Scottish correctly :) In Scotland, Scottish ales are really just ales made in Scotland the same as a Kentish ale is just an ale made in Kent, England. Typical Scottish heavy is similar to an English bitter bit more burnt or roasted flavour. In the North America i think a Scotch Ale is like a pale ale but sweeter? Not sure but its not like our Heavy.

Belhaven, McEwans 70/80, McEwans Export are your typical heavy or Youngers although i dont know if that exists anymore
