This fill is made from the blood of Tigers and bangs 7 gram rocks a day. Cause that is how I roll. Winning!

Haha...this is a 32nd note linear lick incorporating paradiddle-diddles and a paradiddle. It takes up 3 beats and falls on beat four. You could also add on to it so that it doesn't stop on beat 4.

The sticking is left hand lead and goes: ( comma denotes the start of a new beat like 1, 2 , 3, and 4).

  • why do this complicated sticking? you could do the exact same fill with right left sticking??

  • @atila1994 Thanks for your question. To answer your statement pertaining to the alternate sticking: yes you could do that. But also consider this:

    1. This video was illustrating the paradiddle-diddle; one of the 40 essential P.A.S. rudiments EVERY person who calls themselves a drummer should know.

    2. A paradiddle-diddle is not a complicated sticking pattern. It is simply r l r r l l. This fill was the result of voicing/orchestrating the rudiment.

  • 3. I guarantee you that if you try and do this drum fill with alternate sticking; you will not be able to play it at the speed I am doing it at.

    4. Why not? Part of my goal as a drummer is challenging myself and the paradiddle-diddle is an easy and effective rudiment once you can play it from your muscle memory.

Thanks for watching Atila 1994. I hope this answers your question :)
