Black Country Rock is a song written and performed by David Bowie. It is from the album The Man Who Sold The World in 1970.

Lyrics:

Pack a pack horse and rest up here on
Black Country Rock
You never know, you might find it here on
Black Country Rock

Pack a pack horse and rest up here on
Black Country Rock
You never know, you might find it here on
Black Country Rock

Some say the view is crazy
But you may adopt another point of view
So if it's much too hazy
You can leave my friend and me with fond adieu

Pack a pack horse and rest up here on
Black Country Rock
You never know, you might find it here on
Black Country Rock

Pack a pack horse and rest up here on
Black Country Rock
You never know, you might find it here on
Black Country Rock

Some say the view is crazy
But you may adopt another point of view
So if it's much too hazy
You can leave my friend and me with fond adieu

Some say the view is crazy
But you may adopt another point of view
So if it's much too hazy
You can leave my friend and me with fond adieu

  • Best Bowie album ever.

  • @bowiemichelle Marc Bolan?

  • @hed4bed i dont know man this definitely blows and stones album out of the water. its up there with the beatles i'd say. its so eloquent and gritty at the same time. almost like the first goth album in a way as well.

  • this song is such a killer deep cut, with the great deep cuts, such as Sway by the Stones, Wanton song, etc....Ronson sounds a lot like Iommi on this album, the tone, vibrato...yet this album came out soon after, so he got that influence else where. I assume.

  • such an amazing bowie song! so wonderful!

  • THE MAN BEHIND BOWIE

  • thumbs up if fearne cotton brought you here!(yy)

  • jesus love him when he had the rock star look with the muscles and spiky blonde hair...i love him anyway though haha

  • Marc Bolan at his finest! (With Bowie of course!!) Thanks for sharing! XOXO

  • @xxpiggystardustxx I dont know if I agree about it being one of the "best rock albums ever",but in all its brilliance

I totally agree about it being his most underrated album (as they were at the time) - There is not a song on this album that I never liked - indeed this was one of my favourite bowie albums of all time - a real cracker!
