I made mine and if u keep stirring with a whisk u can make it as thick as u like u just need to cook longer and keep whisking :)

@wetnwild2000 i think you can put out the cream and instead add one more egg to the recipe. :) hope this helps!

Wikipedia says Bird invented his famous cornflour/colour version of he custard because his wife was allergic to eggs, but the confirming reference url link was dead (as of 2nd July 2010) so that story isnt' confirmed. So i have suggested to wikipaedia to consider your story and given them a link to this video.

du u need to use double cream can u just use milk
you can just use milk to tastes better with cream

@mazeightysix - yes the eggs thicken it - if you want a really thick custard add an extra egg
