Watching the 850D dig out some organic material along a ditch. This is directly off the pavement of an open road with a live phone line (above ground, temporary) on the shoulder.

  • Idk if u guys do it much, bt can u try to get a vid of u guys takin the weight off before u move it, curious on how its exactly done thanks, great vids!

  • @lambejr1 I have one with the 385, same idea.

  • Vantage is spot on with his cycle time for 4 passes. Only in soft material can you make 4 passes in less than 50 seconds with 80-110 ton machines. And drivers got to be on the money its not all hoe. Good load times take team work. One trick I use is to leave dozer a little heavy so I always have loose material at the bottom of cut. Also leave spill over on other side of truck when doing drive bye it creates a chute so truck are always same distance and gives clear area of when they gonna stop.

  • @HomebrewCigarsmoker Those are good tricks but only work if you have the support equipment to do it, this year we've been short on blade power.

  • vantagetes one re-accurring problem I find on production dirt jobs where trucks are being used is management does'nt take time to teach cycle time to truck drivers. Yes, if you let dump dummies pull way the heck away , and if they pull up so far their truck is strait in line with targeted area, or if they wait for the loaded truck to pass bye before they begin backing up they will kill your production. however, these adversities can be trained out. But yes drive bye is optml n perfct world.

  • @HomebrewCigarsmoker I try to work with them and show why they need to do things a certain way. I find it best to get them on the ground if they have any down time and work with the dozer or hoe spotting trucks etc so they can see WHY it's so important.

  • @vantagetes gonna have to go with hayabusa on this one I consistanly get 40-50 sec load times with 4 scoops. Call Kiewit arkansas division and research hindsville project load times. Infact I was doing 3 passes in 35 sec. Its all about length of stroke and how fast you empty the bucket. BUT, hayabusa you need to calm down and explain your self logically to give your argument lagitamacy.

  • @008hayabusa you are right about your scoop between trucks and loading the first while truck is still moving, and yes drivers who anticipate the stop before they here the horn kill cycle time. But you are not a rarity. I teach all my production hoe hands to do those things. Hate to bust your bubble but it sounds like your just a good solid hoe hand that needs some affirmation so as to decrease your insecurities caused by your father never telling you he was proud of you.

  • 008hayabsa if you had 4 level buckets why not use 3 heaping way increase your cycle time.

  • @HomebrewCigarsmoker Operator wanted the trucks there, and it takes way longer to have those monkeys back in then it does to swing the extra bit, but I know what you mean.
