I'm a Nationals fan and not a Dodgers fan at all. I have an mlb.tv subscription so I can watch most any game. If my Nats aren't playing, I'll watch the Dodgers just to hear Vin Scully call the game. And if the Nats play the Dodgers, I'll listen to the LA broadcast instead of the Washington announcers. Vin Scully is a national treasure.

Yes. I think that the reason why guys like Scully and Uecker are so great is because of their background in radio. The best announcers we ever had got their start in radio before moving on to television. On radio, you have to get creative and really tell a story but keeping in mind that the audience is there as part of the theater. On television, that is eliminated because we see and hear everything. And the modern announcers feel it their God-given right to yap, yap, yap.

The reason gibbys home run is #1 IMO is that the dodgers were such underdogs to the mighty A's and that home run won the World Series in game one, sound funny but the A's were not the same after that for the rest of the series.

As bitter the rivalry is between you and us, I must say that I've always had a secret admiration for Giants fans (unlike Angels fans down here). I feel like Dodgers and Giants fans alike are both passionate fan bases that love their teams. That being said, though. You can sure as hell expect a fight from us this season.
