When ex-Shattersphere members Kyle Morrison and Justin Rogers decided to start a new music project, it wasn't supposed to turn out like this. Sometimes things don't turn out as planned, sometimes they turn out to be far better than expected. With an initial challenge of overcoming the 1,000 mile distance between them, Morrison (based in Atlanta, GA) and Rogers (based in Hartford, CT) began to co-write music over the Internet. Tracking riffs in Garageband and sending them back and forth to each other might seem like an odd way to start a band, but they were driven to start working together again after a 3 year hiatus.

After a few songs were written, the two of them decided to passively seek other potential members for the group. Upon browsing through various websites, Morrison found an interesting ad on Craig's List that caught his eye and decided to meet up with the author. Enter ex-Redstone Rising guitarist Stephen Gladney. After an introductory meeting, the two later met again at Morrison's home studio. After a few hours of collaborating, they laid the foundation for the song "Fall of the Tyrant."

Now with 3 strong songwriters present in the band, the group pushed forward and was writing double the material in less than half the time. The demos were coming along strong, so and thus they decided to continue a passive search for additional members. It was then that Morrison contacted an old friend from college, ex-Priapism bassist Brian Dawley. There was only one catch to this: Brian lives in Boston, MA and had never met the remaining members. By this point though, the obstacle of distance was hardly a deterrent for the group.

And thus the stage was set. With the band working entirely long distance from their home studios, the demo EP thousands of miles back and forth between all of the members. Upon its completion, only 100 copies were printed up and handed out at the 2011 Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, TN; where the four members met together for the very first time. The industry response was overwhelming. After securing numerous endorsements and creating an enormous amount of curiosity, the band continued to push forward.

Needing to secure a drummer for their debut public release, the band continued their tradition of working with well established, out of state musicians; only this time they would be enlisting someone not only out of state, but out of the country. Morten Løwe Sørensen (Mercenary, Amaranthe, Dragonland) out of Esbjeg, Denmark agreed to take part in this highly unusual project, completing the musical juggernaut and transforming it into an international band.

Sørensen began tracking drums on September 6, 2011 with Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Mercenary, Tyr, Deadlock) in Ribe, Denmark. The tracks were then shipped over to the United States to filmscorer and producer Jonathan Cazenave in Atlanta, GA and producer Ron Zabrocki in Hartford, CT. Triphon's debut album will be released internationally via Rockingham Records / The Orchard Enterprises. With 10,000 miles separating all members of the band, the world eagerly awaits the debut of a new International phenomenon.
