This is international ballroom rumba. Inspired by Cuban bolero-son I believe, and developed in dance studios in the USA and UK. The latin ballroom community is completely separate from authentic latin dance of all types. Bizarrely, it also seems to be completely uninterested in it. The danger for me is that latin ballroom can look like a ridiculous exaggerated pastiche of a dance. Also, where is the innovation? Having said that, I love the rumba on SYTYCD.

Type in " Afro-Cuban dance workshop , Juan Carlos Blanco. He is a Rumba Master. Guys update your dancing I really don't know how to classify what you're doing other then imitation. There is a lot of "WHITE" Latin dance and the even sillier ballroom "latin" look at the real thing

This is not cuban motion or anything else even remotely cuban. There is a short film by two actual Cubans showing the rumba step for the man and the woman. For for a start you should be stepping to the side then to the middle then the side. You speak with such confidence thats the thing that gets me. Look up guaguanco then you'll see some "authentic" Rumba Cubana!!! Seriously!!!!
