Ford simply owned a stake of Mazda. Never " was part of ". If you own a stake. You can share whatever. Ford has never owned more then 23.5% of Mazda. And currently owns 3.5%

Mazda shares about 40% with ford. For example the esacpe and tribute they both share same engaine and same body design.

Mazda is actually not a part of Ford, they use to use the same building factory but Mazda stopped that a few months ago and has decided to go back to importing cars
