An experiment in live violin animation. A basic bow motion was fairly easy, but to improve that to the moderate standard in this video took some effort.
To achieve a REALLY good effect is going to be quite a step up again .. we shall see if I get the time and urge!
Note that I dislike 3d modelers of every sort I have tried. I can visualize exactly what I want to do, but modelers do not operate as I would expect, and are PAINFULLY slow to learn and use.
Hence this 'violin' is a very simple borrowed model, which was saved by applying a good texture to disguise the rough shapes and colours.
Sound is by customized Korg M 50 and soundfont.
The "3d Blitz" programming language is quite old now, but someone had written a routine to handle midi input and the code needed to move 3d objects is quite simple.
Hah! the true motion of a bow however is not simple. There is a long way to go.
