I think the CS-3 sounds better, Nels Cline does too!
-
CS-3 is better for Metal.

CS-3 is just a sterile. It has more volume on tap as shown in this video. The CS-2 is king for me. Nice, full, balanced sound. I think the tone stack on the CS-3 favors certain frequencies so you have to choose where you need it most vs. the broad spectrum of the CS-2.

I had a CS-2 over 20 years ago: I couldn't give it away - Now I'd pay silly money for one!
-
both are pretty good but I think that the cs3 is a little more agresive than cs2 which good for the cs2 cause it sound more musical, warm, I stay with cs2
-
which has beter sustain? god job by the way
-
I regret selling my CS-2 a while back...I'm about to purchase another one in even better shape! Woo!
-
CS-2 sounds as good as Keeley or any other high-end compressor IMHO
-
@showzi666 Congratulations for the video, it's a good comparacion.
What cables and mark his are you using in the pedals?
Thanks
The CS-3 sounds brittle compared to the warm, full sound of the CS-2. Plus, if it's good enough at $100 to be used as Gilmour's comp live and in the studio for almost ten years, it's good enough for me. Great demo!

@joshie4330 Hello!!
CS -2 makes a warm sound with a fat.
Though it is an old model, I hear a good sound.
Thank you for comment!
