Wabash Central Railroad, Bluffton Indiana. This short-line local service railway runs from VanBuren to Craigville Indiana, office is in Bluffton Indiana. This crosses Norfolk Southern's New Castle District Line in Bluffton. This is the former Nickle Plate Railroad, then Indiana Hi-Rail, this ends just East of Craigville, half mile or so. It used to run past Craigville to Peterson, then to Decatur, Pleasant Mills, and on into Ohio, first Willshire then crossed the Erie Lackawanna at Ohio City and beyond. This line ends just a mile and a half or so from my home, what a disappointment, we move out here 13 years ago and were within months of missing the last train to pass-by out here, as it angled it would have been easily seen from home here, about a half mile across the farm fields..... hmmm, sure too bad for all these rail lines. :-(
I wondered about that direction Eastward after Woodburn, was heading over there to check things out one of these days as well.

Ive been up to Defiance, OH and checked them out up there. Unfortunately they were not running at the time. They had one ex Ilinois Central GP10 in their small yard. The track conditions looked just as bad up there as in Blufton.

I would think 10 would be about it, I keep a velocity gun in my truck when I'm taking video, pics or whatever, it has to be moving a min. of 10 mph to show a speed and so far, from what I have seen it hasn't been able to even surpass that. I am going to head to Woodburn to try to get some video up there, they still use a caboose regularly on that old Indiana Hi-rail, or Maumee and Western, of course last time through there, no camera with me.....

Interesting video, i was just in Blufton on Tuesday and got to see the #12. This was my first time to see the wabash Central. So what is the maximum speed on this line? cant imagine it be more then 10 mph...
