I am not a Jew and I think this song is amazing. This song transcends all racial, religious and political boundries. It is not only a song about the survival of the Maccabee children but a plea to the human race not to let the light of humanity and kindness go out in any of us. It reminds us that justice and freedom require commitment and a constant vigile. It also reminds us that we have the capacity to be our own angels or demons as we choose.
