How to grab, rip and convert video files found on the internet, to use and edit in iMovie. Aimed at Mac users but the same goes for all platforms. Video Download Helper is a free FireFox extension that allows you to capture most video found on YT and the internet. You can get a copy here: http://www.downloadhelper.net/install.php
WARNING - never use this software to rip Youtube videos without permission. Doing so means the owner of the video may report you for DMCA violation ending-up in suspension or worse!

  • neat trick - but thing is I couldn´t open the flv file in my quicktime player

  • @ottotynes1 That's interesting! When I use DWHelper is downloads and saves the file as an MP4 not FLV. If you go into Firefox /tools/addons/dwhelper/ preferences there is a checkbox to allow a widget for switching between FLV/MP4 - try that!
