I'm not sure what you consider "winning" a war to be, but the Israeli army was within shelling distance of both Cairo and Damascus by the end of the 73 war, not to mention the fact that they had trapped the Egyptian third army, and the only thing that prevented them from completely destroying it was diplomatic pressure. Israel had also rolled out their nukes...just in case.

I think al-Jazzeera did a mild amount of plagarism of Martin Kramer's Summer 1993 "Arab Nationalism: Mistaken Identity"... some parts of this are taken directly from his text, word for word, such as the unilateral action of Egypt in 1973 fighting "a strictly Egyptian war for the return of the Israeli-occupied Sinai" (p 189)
