In Part 1 of our symposium with Chris Bache, he shares with us the influence that Stanislav Grof had on him including the use of psychedelics as a 20 year spiritual practice and inquiry. He then compares the use of psychedelics recreationally, therapeutically and spiritually. Chris recounts his experiences of the existential crises encountered as impasses, the process of surrender, death of ego and rebirth into a new reality. He speaks of psychedelics as "hypersensitizing consciousness", opening it up from the personal to different levels of transpersonal reality, where one experiences cycles of perinatal rememberings, births, deaths and rebirths as well as the place between incarnations. We talk about returning to Source and awakening to who we truly are, yet Chris sees that the return to Source is not the goal unlike the "up and out cosmology" of the last 5,000 years. There is a new cosmology emerging of bringing Source into and empowering the evolutionary project, a recombining of the human and divine. We discuss (morphic) 'field work', how they have become more energized especially over the last two years, and look at the interplay between our current global crisis point and our collective soul fermentation -- the birth of soul consciousness on the planet. Chris sees the crisis as the womb that is engendering the birth of the 'Diamond Soul', a higher order of consciousness. We then explore the work being done within the collective dark night of the soul, the 'Ocean of Suffering' which is leading to a collective healing and transformation, a co-participation with Source on our evolutionary journey.
