I suffered a corneal burn from catching a reflection from a 5mW laser. It took only a split second (faster than I could blink) to burn a tiny abraision onto the outside of my eye. Thankfully it healed, but with 125 mW lasers you simply punch through the corneal and burn your retina, which cannot repair itself of be repaired =/ be careful my friend. Cute dog by the way.

@iStink so is it bad to do this with my 1W ARTIC laser and hit myself in the eyes with it?
-
@methodshop yes you are careful but i would say one full second could cause problems...... so just keep up good aim and you will be fine...
-
@iStink yup and all he needs to do is keep something that moves a the speed of light ahead of the dog.... i wonder if the dog can go that fast....

Every one is over reacting.
People just read about it and think, "OMG ONE MILISECOND IN EYE I GO BLIND OH NOES"
Just shut the fuck up.

Protip: use a less powerful laser for playing with your dog :)

my 75mw has a visable beam, even in daytime, but i can't see your beam, just your dot.
You could easily blind the dog like that. If the dog catches up with the laser it could flash across its eye(s), and before the blink reflex kicks in, the dog already has permanent damage. YOU, methodshop, obviously aren't aware of the dangers of a 95mW laser.

i get it in my eye all the time. it's like looking at the sun. keep it brief.

WTF do you mean " if you stare into the beam for 30 sec or longer, then you will have problems " this laser can blind you quicker than your reflex to blink is!!!
