  • Hey Chris, I've asked you this in the past, but can't find the message where you gave me the answer in my inbox anymore. Where did you actually purchase your planes from? I know you gave me a couple of resources for them previously. I think LMI sells some, but I'm not sure if they're the right size or not, etc, etc..

At your convenience! Thanks in advance

  • @JSGayMusic I bought them at Pilgrim's Projects. I've never used the toothed blades myself. I've only got the normal blade versions. That said, wanna send me a toothed blade I'll be happy to test it out for you on the top I'm about to carve! Hahahaha.

  • Der Wackeltisch hätte mich schon wahnsinnig gemacht!! lol

  • @micheloderso Oh. I assure you! It did! It has since been remedied!

  • @JSGayMusic also, I know they make them with toothed and smooth blades. I'd assume the smooth ones would be best for this application?

  • Great stuff Chris!

  • @JSGayMusic They are the convex soled Ibex lutherie planes. The big one is their "cello" model (90mm i think?) and the small one is the middle of the range on their other "violin" planes. I wanna say somewhere in the 20mm area? I don't have them handy to measure right now so hopefully I said in the video? That said, I'm thinking of getting a smaller one (those tiny things) for some recurve work and also tight cut away area carves.

  • @verhoevc are they Flat or Convex planes?

  • Did you find yourself blowing to get the shavings off the top of the guitar ? I know I did.

  • @satasha77 The shop is a constant work in progress and that table, at that time, was BRAND new and just came into the shop.
