  • Oct/Nov 2007.

  • Thanks for visiting and comment. Glad to help with the memories.

  • Thanks for visiting. Glad to help the Marine family stay in touch and understand where they are going to/from.

  • Thanks, not that it matters but I spent all of 68 there with the 3rd FSR. It was a really large Army base and we just had a Supply Regiment.

Looks like it's changed up just a tad bit since then. Make's me want to take stroll down BC street.

    Thanks

  • I only saw for a few days in 1968 when I rotated back to 'world' from my Nam tour. Then for a whole year in 72-73

  • Oh my goodness I miss the globe and anchor I remember I went to Zukrean elementary. MEMORIES!!!!!!!!!!

  • My memories of Okinawa are somewhat vague. Camp Foster was the one next to Kadena AFB I'm assuming? That being the case, the SR-71 "Black Bird" would fly low and slow right over head, a sight to behold.

Took up Scuba Diving after getting bored doing the same things the rest of you degenerates did. There was a Sea Wall along the Ocean you see in this video. I spent most of my off-duty time snorkeling and free-diving here. God knows how much sewage dumped into this; corral life was spectacular.

  • I was thrown out of that E-Club a few times. Same with the Airmans Club on Kadena AFB.

  • Thanks for video!! Good memories. 1988-1989

  • spent almost 3 years on Camp Foster 85-86-87.

Google Earth shows that both my Barracks, and my shop are now gone..

12th Marines HQ Btry. Comm PLT.

  • ah the old hook n jab also known as the globe n anchor

  • I used to know this as Camp Sukiran in 1963-64. Home of the 12th Marines (my regt) and 173rd Airborne Brigade. I left in August 64 and flew down to Danang and Phu Bai right after the Tonkin Gulf incident...sort of before VN became popular...but I have my memories of a mountain top event that hang with me to this day....

  • Wow that brought back some memories. MWSS 174
