This was the first of The Pixies five 1963-4 hits. it peaked at #40 over a nine week run starting August 17, 1963. I wonder if it was recorded in Philadelphia using the Cameo-Parkway house band, because the percussion arrangement is very close to what appeared on many Cameo-Parkway hits (The Orlons' "South Street," for example).

Bought this one! Lost it over the years. Heard it being used to open a Murphy Brown episode. Found it again in an oldies shop. Still use it for birthdays. Great sound... hear the Orlons influence...
