  • @Iain1962 Yeah, those sons of bitches... Big Pharma has ZERO compassion. Realization of that instilled in me an obsession with my health. I refuse to take any pill or vaccine, even over-the-counter stuff, NEVER EVER EVER, I don't trust them a BIT.

  • @Iain1962 So he paid in for 45 years, almost never went to the doctor, certainly never abused the system, he was way too honourable for that, and when he was close to death they left him in a cupboard with no water... family had to forceibly move into the cupboard to look after him in his last days, so yep I'm afraid the NHS scores a big fat zero for me.

  • @Iain1962 My mother recently had an infection, she had to wait a year to see somebody, once she did it went fine, but in the meantime she suffered for a year, the family tried to seek private care...we were told if we did, she would lose all rights to the NHS...So you pay in all your life and then when you need it they make you stand in line or treat you like crap, and if you seek private advise you lose your rights... I hope you don't have the same experiences when you are older.

  • @keekool Well lucky you, my dad died from a stroke, he was taken to hospital in Glasgow, I flew over to see him, he was in a cupboard, he had sores on his tongue because they hadn't even given him a drink of water....

  • @Iain1962 well im happy with the service provided. I have been treated in a private hospital too and apart from the reduced waiting times I reckon the NHS hospital was far better than the private one which was full of nurses who couldnt speak english and dirty wards. But you are right that theres probably countries like Finland, Norway etc with better healthcare.

If I had been treated in a lot of other countries around the world I would only have a stump left for an arm, so Im grateful for NHS.

  • @keekool Lucky you it's a bit like a lottery some guy gets a winning ticket, but everybody else loses, nice to know you got some good treatment I have lived all over Europe and experienced the health services in many different countries, and I can absolutely tell you that the UK's system compared to most of Europe stinks, but then what do the brits who never leave home have to compare it with?

  • @Iain1962 The experience I had was extremely positive, if it were not for the NHS surgeon who operated on me, I wouldnt be able to use my arm now. If it

I dont know what is about Scots but they never seem to stop complaining. Its well documented that Scotland recieves drugs for cancer patients which are denied to patients in England, and has higher quality hospitals due to Englands ridiculous funding. Please Vote SNP in the election, thanks.

  • How can that Doc sleep well? Does he believe what he is talking? Sorry, cant listen to his Bla Bla Bla any longer. Sounds nearly like he is an idiot to me. Thank you Alex for your great work. Greetings from Germany

  • Why is "socialized health care" so terrible thing to Jones? Admitted, I don't know what he means with it. But if he means that gov ensures free or low cost health care system to everyone, then it should be a good thing.

Such systems work in many countries around the world giving better health care with lower costs than the American health care. In fact, the American health care is the worst performing of the western countries, and a lot of people outside of the system.

  • I am Scottish, have had many family members treated many times by the NHS, and can say without a doubt that the NHS is shite.
