SON-OF-GUN; JUST MADE IT!!! In 1974 "Lookin' For A Love" peaked No. 10 thus just making the Billboard's Top 10 and spent a total of 17 weeks in the Top 100...
Two other versions of this song have charted; The Valentinos reached No. 72 in 1962 {this was the original version and Bobby Womack was a member} and the J. Geils Band took it to No. 39 in 1972...

This started out as a church song. Now its a great soul classic.

@evanjacoby How sweet...so did you stay in love with Soul Music!!! This man is incredible and the epitome of SOUL!!!
My Dad picked me up one Saturday morning back in 1975.
I asked him to please take me down to the record store so I could buy the new Bobby Womack song. He actually paid for it .. about $1.00 FOR THE "45"
I played it over and over and sung my heart out, dancing around the house like a maniac.
My parents must have really been amused to see a 10 yr old white kid ..crazy about soul music : )

I got home from Vietnam, played this record over and over on my 8 track tape in my brand new Plymouth Road Runner as I roam the country side making love to any and all women married and unmarried.
