I think every normal person should know how to motivate themselves. Even the idea sounds to me like a life that isn't worth living. Who is this stupid anyway? It is not that easy, too.

yea people 'should' know how to motivate themselves but a lot of people don't, won't be able to work it out, and really suffer from it. the iPlant is primarily for them.

there won't be a "pleasure button", stimulation will be conditional on the user performing a pre-defined behaviour like pulling a stroke on a rowing-machine. check out the iPlant seminar video or the website, they go into more detail.
