While we were in the writers’ room this year shaping our fifth season, we discovered that we were approaching the culmination of that story." It has nothing to do with ratings. They've simply finished their story.

it's the last season b/c the stars are wanting to do different things. Amanda Seyfried wants to do film as does Chloe Sevigny. Amanda Seyfried wanted last season to be her last but contractually she has to finish up with season five. The story has played itself out. Bill is outed on a national level...Roman is dead...the story lines will only start to repeat.

that being said...I agree. It sucks. I love this show. I think it could have gone on for a few more seasons.

Their lives are such a mess at the end. How do they get out of that jam with no jail time. Ha, I felt humiliated. I've haven't been addicted to a show like this since Dallas.
