I met Dale when his horse was boarded at the same ranch with our horses, next to Bob and Jeans in Orange Park Acres late 60's early '70's. Always stylish, Dale rode his horse wearing an expensive gold watch and ring. Ready for a party at the drop of his cowboy hat and cooked some of the best steaks accompanied by onions wrapped in foil, cooked in the embers. He was charming, kind and always had a smile. A huge loss for the surfing industry and mankind.

I think that I saw Dale when I lived in the OC--He was a part of "san clemente" for sure--Man, he LOVES his surfboards :) What TLC!

What op8er said. My first gun was a '64 longboard. I was so little back then I couldn't tuck it under my arm, so my dad made a sling from the back wheels of a tricycle so I could get it to and from the beach.
