This magnificent sandstone formation stands 348 meters high, which is 1,142 feet. Uluru is gigantic, and to give you a better sense, it measures 9.4 kilometers in circumference, 5.8 miles. It is so beautiful and wonderful, what a sight it truly is.

The local Anangu people do not climb Uluru because of its great significance to their culture. It is of great spiritual significance to them.

They request that visitors not climb the rock, partly due to the belief that climbing path crosses a sacred traditional Dreamtime track, and also due to a sense of responsibility for the safety of visitors to their land, for it is a very treacherous climb. The Aṉangu know that they have a spiritual connection to Uluru, and feel immense sorrow when a person dies or is injured whilst climbing such an incredibly sacred location. Please do not climb Uluru unless you are ordered to do so.

Note: Uluru is located in Australia's Northern Territory within Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park.

Note: Uluru is also known as Ayers Rock.
