Auto Talk 101: Shaking Car When Driving on Highway - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats.

Typically if you are driving down the freeway and you feel abnormal shaking in your steering wheel, that is going to be a tire issue. Whether it be a balance issue or a quality issue, or a seperation happening in your tire, that should be looked at right away.

Typically you are going to find that happen at a particular mileage, say for instance it is going to start at sixty miles an hour, but go away below and above that mile, but have it checked out by a reputable tire shop. Different than that is if you feel that similar vibration either in your body or in your steering wheel when you brake. That could be a sign of worked brake rotors and also should be checked out by a qualified mechanic.

  • what happens when it's just at about 20 kmh and upwards, almost feels like the regular rattle you get from a flat tire or crossing over those paint strip speed bumps

  • @crazeemunky thanks for the question. We have sent it to the expert and hope to send you a response soon.
