Elena at the same time can bring out the best part of Damon, trying to make him the feelings: she is the first that really cares about him and she always forgives him , because she knows that Damon is the typical bad boy from the heart 's gold, while Stefan is really bad, but he won't surrender to his nature and he tryes to be good by force of will (Stefan is really admirable). I think it should be Katherine to save Stefan from Klaus' mind control.
