RunKeeper was built for the 3G iPhone and is a tool for runners (and cyclists, walkers, etc.) that enables you to use the built in GPS in the iPhone to track your run performance (duration, distance, pace, speed) and display your route on a Google Map. Brilliant app, been using it since january to help me record and improve my fitness. Works like a dream. Yes occasionally the gps bugs out but thats really a hardware / positioning fault and not the fault of the app.

Just took this app on a 1 mile run. At the end of the mile it said I did 12 miles and clocked me at 1 min miles. I wish ,what's up with that? I'll try again tomorrow but it's not looking like the apps worth a shit. Any advise?

great idea, but the iphone is so bulky, i don't see any serious or competitive runners relying on its use for training. terrific application, but a shame it can't be used on a nano...
