Pacelli, Pius XII - part 1 (election 1939-1940)

First to voice any opinion that could be fruit of stereotyped ideas or ignorance try to see and to read the real history and to understand the real reasons that forced Pacelli to keep silent about some events, this doesn't mean his collusion with Nazism, on the contrary, he has done his all first to prevent and then to fight every totalitarianisms.

Pope Pius XII was a very holy Pope who helped the Jews and others. In fact, many Jewish leaders have documented his help. The late Chief Rabbi of Rome, Eugenio Zolli is one who wrote highly of the pope's courage and support received by the Jews who were in danger. The enemies of Christ have lied about him because they hate the Catholic Church and especially God made man, Jesus Christ.

Pius XII comes off as a basically good-hearted but weak and naive man. He certainly played soft with the Nazis because of his obsessive and excessive fear of Communism (which led him to conclude the Concordat with the Hitler regime under Pius XI's reign in 1933). At every turn, he is "surprised" and "shocked" by events. He failed badly in the prophetic role that the "vicar of Christ" is supposed to fulfill. May he never be canonized.

This is so good to see. Pius XII did so much good during the war - he helped Jews to hide and to escape - but he did these thins in secret, as Jesus told us to do our good deeds. Truly a saintly man. His canonisation is long overdue.
