Jack Brabham Trophy Race October 24th 1971 @ Brands Hatch

The Jack Brabham Trophy Race 1971 where Jack Brabham won in the Ford Escort MK1 Mexico - Reg Number HLA 210K. It was on The UK's Channel 2 program "100 Greatest Sporting Moments" back in the late 80's early 90's. We have the winning car and have owned it for the last 23 years.

What a Race!!

I`ve also got this race on video (& the 89 motorshow that was on after it!). None of the HLA***K cars are taxed or SORNed, I think the `last` one was taxed in 1994 (214k) & is shown as untaxed & not exported, the others were officially all `gone` by mid 86, so where are they?

I`ve just got a bog burgandy 1972 standard 1100 2-door thats been sitting in a dry lockup since 1980, virtually no rust (only on 1 rear arch) & never welded if anyones interested!

Yes, funny as. They say ol' black Jack only ever used his mirrors to line U up for a spray of stones from the edge of the track. GREAT video - never seen it & enjoyed it immensely. reknawfiend beat me to it - I was going to say did they run Colin's car over the scale afterward ? Half of it was probably hidden under the bench in the pit garage. He'd likely have taken out all but one bolt on each bumper, blocked the heater hoses & drained the heater core & sucked the foam out of the sunvisors.
