i went one time, but i didnt find the trail to go up...so i gave up after 2 hrs hike randomly!! TT

Ka'ala actually means "The Fragarance". Idk if u remember smelling cinnamon while you were passing the blue moss, but that's why.

Yea, it can get a little tricky in the middle area. But if you read my trip report, it should help you get there...

Good to know. I don't specifically recall a cinnamon fragrance while up there. I wish I had known what to smell for. Thanks for the insight, though!!

Ah man! you didn't tape the best part...the last bit where you shimmy along the muddy path and scramble straight up with printer cables. Those ropes/cables are definitely helpful however some of them are not very trustworthy.

@flyfisherholms It would have been pretty hard to do that with a camera in my hand! As it was, I ended up trusting the "ropes" quite a bit on the way down. I couldn't see another way that didn't end up with my lifeless corpse at the bottom of the green expanse. I realized when I got back to my car that I didn't take one picture or shoot one video on the way down. I was really focused on not eating it.
