Coronation Street - Bet and Rita Argument (11 October 1995)

Date of Transmission: Wednesday 11 October 1995

This has to be a classic Corrie confrontation. The story was that the fictional brewery Newton and Ridley were selling off some of their pubs and The Rovers Return was one of them. Bet knew she couldn't raise the money needed so asked her friend Rita to go into partnership. Rita debated whether or not to go into partnership with Bet and in the end decided not to. Bet was devestated and so a vicious row erupts. Several hurtful comments were made and Bet and Rita's friendship was over.

The acting in this scene outshines anything Corrie has produced in the entire last ten years. Even the facial expressions are down to a tee. Compare these two with the likes of Fizz. It's rather quite depressing.

Hahahahahaha,what a memory! Now I think about it,Gail's not had an attempt on her life for quite a few months now.Perhaps Emily could start with her.I dunno,maybe she's pissed off with David's attempt at giving her a rinse & she flips,deciding to take the Platts hostage,lol.Or young Simon steals the charity boxes & Emily becomes God's avenging angel.Emily definitely needs a storyline,with BLOOD,hahaha.
