holy viel and vow of silence can u explain plz?

vow of silence stops any spell from being cast on me be it ally or foe, holy veil doubles the casting time of hexes on me, so when vow of silence wears off i get twice as long to cast it before i get hexed and if i were to become hexed i could cast vow of silence and then remove holy veil to take off the hex
